Hotel White Sands Resort & Conference Centre is situated 25km North of Dar es Salaam city centre, on a private stretch of beach 1 km long. It features a swimming pool, a spa and fitness centre. Each individually decorated room is air-conditioned. It comes with a balcony offering either sea or garden views and comes equipped with tea-and-coffee-making facilities, minibar and a satellite TV. The private bathroom includes a shower. Mchanga Restaurant & Bar is an open-air restaurant offering panoramic ocean views and serves a la carte menu as well as buffet style. There is a poolside coffee shop and bar, and Pweza Jetty serves light meals with full bar service. White Sands has an on site PADI Dive Centre called Sea Breeze Marine where guests can book scuba or snorkeling activities. Water world is 270 metres from White Sands Hotel.

-: Food in restaurant took a very long time to arrive!The beach is littered with much plasticEvents that were planned for large groups impacted other users of the hotel and prevented young children sleeping. Sadly one group left loads of plastic bottles over the beautiful grass and these were not cleared up until the following day.

+: Enjoyed the stay and the beautiful property. Thank you for the decoration within the room! A special mention to Chef Sunil who was so hospitable and made our stay even better by cooking fresh vegetarian Indian food - food is such an important aspect of a holiday and he ensured we got the best!

+: Before coming to this hotel, I was in Zanzibar and Nairobi. This stay was the worst part of my trip. Could hear my neighbours having sex (bad sound proofing). There was no hot water in the shower 90% of the time. The toilet wasn’t flushing properly, and the sink stopper wasn’t working. Telephone in the room wasn’t working half the time, and when it was working, then the housekeeping, restaurant and reception wasn’t answering on their end. Therefore guests can’t get help. Food at the restaurant is overpriced, needlessly. As a tourist destination it makes sense to employ multilingual staff, some of them had zero comprehension of english making it impossible to communicate. There was an awful smell on the beachfront, assumably coming from the ocean (probably sewage overflow) made things very unpleasant. No jet skis, yet the location of the hotel is perfectly placed to offer them and even makes mention of them on their property description on booking.com I would never stay at this hotel again, almost ruined my trip.
-: There is not one thing I liked about that place. It’s just a lot of wasted potential, the location is perfect and the actual property is beautiful. It could be a gem.

+: Calm and quiet environment. The staff is attentive. It was not possible to swim in the sea due to the tide, but the pool is clean and constantly maintained. Thank you for everything.
